We are Proptiger.com – we have ambitions of applying deep algorithms (machine learning, analytics) and nifty product design to deliver really helpful solutions to the Indian customer who wants to buy a house. The ultimate goal is to be much more than what Zillow is. We have large interesting problems to solve right now.
We are NOT in the classifieds business – though it will soon be a small part of a much larger picture. Currently, we actually help service financial transactions in the real estate industry (including full service brokering).
We are funded by Accel and SAIF (which pretty much makes us the top-tier invested company) and already make very healthy revenues from the business. Our sales staff exceeds 150 people right now. We have a small technology powerhouse team that we are trying to grow as fast as we can.
We believe that we will be a technology company first and foremost – and we are building and revamping our technology stack/team accordingly. We believe in giving independence in technology and design to every developer. We are a successful early stage company – and we will reward you accordingly. We fully intend to pass Joel’s test of a non-sucky place to work and we will encourage your crazy, wildhat ideas. If you have spare time, we will not ask you to dig holes, but contribute to open source or something.

This role:
we are looking for Android hacker who can hit the ground running and build apps usable by millions of users to aid their real estate search. You will be a key player in a strategy to create an entire ecosystem of apps to change how people search and consume real-estate information on the mobile.
You also need to have experience in how to tie together I/O devices like the calling system, GPS, camera and accelerometer to be able to deliver an integrated experience to the user. You also must also have suffered through multiple versions of the Android SDK – 2.3 to 4.0.
We want you to ask and answer hard problems of building maps and search inside an app. You must also be able to think about how to leverage location as an important factor for the end user.
You must have apps on the Play/Amazon store as your portfolio showcase. Extra points if you have open source Android apps. You must also be a hands on programmer – Your interview will most likely involve live-coding an app.

Location matters! We are situated right on the Noida DND exit, so it is possibly one of the nicest commutes you will ever have. Our office is really close to Sector-18, Noida which means easy access to pubs, clubs, restaurants and shopping. We are about a 5 minute walk away from the nearest metro.
