Simpa Networks is seeking a highly skilled and experienced embedded software engineer to join our growing technology team.  We are a fast-paced, mission-driven company based in Bangalore, India, and expanding into 3+ Indian states in 2012-2013.


To meet our company’s rapid growth, Simpa Networks is searching for an experienced, hands-on, and self-motivated embedded software engineer. In this position you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our range of firmware platforms.  Working closely with the hardware team, you will ensure the timely development and implementation of our product’s firmware.You must enjoy working in a fast-paced startup environment and be passionate about positively impacting the world.

Responsibilities


·      Manage all firmware-related tasks and resources

·      Develop a highly flexible embedded software platform

·      Write and maintain updates for our embedded code as new features are desired

·      Work closely with the hardware team to ensure a smooth interface between firmware and hardware

·      Hands-on coding using C/C++ with AVRdude  and STM IDEs.

·      Identify improvements for the current code and interface between the firmware and cloud-based RMS (revenue management system)

·     Creatively explore new features and functionality


 Qualifications


·      Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering

·      Experience writing in C/C++ for embedded systems

·      Demonstrated ability to manage complex software products with rapid deadlines and evolving software requirements

·      Must have experience developing quality, bug-free releases that can survive in a harsh environment with no need for firmware updates

·      Familiarity with the AVR architecture and related development environments (such as AVRdude or AVR Studio). Experience in a Linux/Unix environment a plus.

·      Familiarity with STM development environments

·      Experience writing software in a complicated, networked environment using protocols such as USB, SPI, I2C, PLC, UART, RS232 and Ethernet

·      Previous work with peripheral ICs, such as EEPROM, I/O devices, current sensors, wireless transceivers, etc.

·      Sending and receiving data/commands using GSM/GPRS

·      Deep understanding of electronics hardware principals, and the interaction between hardware and firmware

·      Excellent written and oral communication skills

·     Great team player
