Lead UI Engineer
LearnStreet – a Khosla Ventures-backed Internet start-up whose mission is to disrupt technology education the world over – is seeking a smart, ambitious lead UI developer to join our development team at it’s Bangalore centre.
Collaborating with fellow team experts in user experience, product design, and software engineering, you will be responsible for leading the development of LearnStreet’s innovative user interface for Web, mobile, and third-party applications.
The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Javascript/jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3. They will have created or used UI frameworks and standards in their previous roles to make themselves and the teams around them more consistent, efficient, and error-free. They will enjoy the challenges of developing simple-but-effective user-centric interfaces around entirely new online experiences and workflows.
Requirements:
- 5+ years developing web application front ends using.
- Javascript/Ajax/CSS/HTML. Experience with JavaScript design patterns.
- Experience developing in HTML5 and CSS3.
- Hands-on exposure to ember.js or backbone.js or a similar framework.
- Demonstrated experience with front-end code optimization, human factors engineering, and other UI performance techniques.
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop.
- Strong attention to detail and pixel perfection.
- Expertise with source control management systems, particularly GIT or Mercurial.
Recommended:
- “Back-end” programming experience with Python (ideally) or Ruby/Rails; exposure working with a Web framework such as Flask, Django, or Rails.
- Experience working with distributed or offshore teams.
