Gestural User Interfaces for developing regions.
Details: Technological development and advancement in past decade have given rise to new and emerging areas such as gestural user interfaces. Various research groups and labs have explored in-air gestural user interfaces in various settings and with various user groups, however little amount of research has been done in Indian context, and specifically with older adults. This internship proposes to design and develop in-air gestural user interfaces for older adults in developing regions, with a special focus on healthcare. It will also investigate effectiveness and social acceptance of developed gestural user interfaces with users. Interns will work with Mircosoft Kinect at the premises of Embedded Interaction Lab (EILab), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. A team of 2-4 students can submit proposal by 15th May 2013
Students across the world can apply to EILab through MSR, work at EILab and get paid of $200 per month by MSR.
